Scoring

Points will be awarded as follows. 1st place = 1point , 2nd place = 2 points etc. Lowest Points total wins for the day. Ties will be broken by counting the number of 1st place finishes, 2nd place finishes and so on. In order to encourage skippers to take crew when they race, and to get new sailors into the sport, we are implementing a scoring system that penalizes solo skippers. If you sail a race SOLO, you will get your points multiplied x 1.5.

For example if you sail solo and you finish 2nd, you will get 2x1.5 = 3 points. Had you sailed with a crew, you would have received 2 points. This has been introduced at ROUND 3 and does not affect rounds one or two.

DSQ - If you start a race and are DSq'd for being over way too early, hitting an obstacle, or other boat and not doing the mandatory 360, then you will get the (last finisher points +1)

DNF - Its unlikely that we will have any Did Not Finish (DNF) but in that event, the DNF sailor will get the (last finisher points +1).

DNS - Sailors that Did not Start, (DNS) automatically get the (highest points + 1).  For instance if only 6 boats competed in Round 1, all no shows automatically get (6+1)=7 points. If there were solo skippers that that finished in last position, say 5th, the last skipper would get 5x1.5=7.5 pts. The DNS skippers would get 7.5 +1 = 8.5 pts
